Use case · Telegram mentions
Tracking keyword mentions in Telegram channels: what works today and what does not.
feedql reads the public Telegram channels you add and applies your keywords to what they post. It does not search across all of Telegram yet; that is coming soon. We follow 40 channels ourselves, so this is written from use. It suits you if you already know where your market talks.
By the feedql team · Updated 15 October 2026 · Figures from our own running instance, 7 days to 14 October 2026
What do our own Telegram numbers show?
From our running instance. Telegram is a small, slow source next to Reddit or GitHub, and that shapes how to use it.
- 40public channels we follow, all read through the web preview
- 201Telegram posts published in the 7 days to 14 Oct 2026, 0.7% of all 30,130 items
- 83new Telegram items in the last 24 hours (at 14 Oct 2026, 21:15 UTC)
- 55 minfastest learned refresh interval; the median is about 11 hours
Telegram brought new items on 5 of the last 7 days. We do not measure the time between a post and its row in the feed, so we give no latency figure. Queries: docs/marketing/use-case-numbers.md.
How do we read Telegram?
The mechanics, so you know what to expect.
- The public web preview first. Channels with a web preview are read without an account. A pooled Telegram account is used only where the preview is not enough, and always through a Ukrainian route.
- You add the channels. Paste the channel link. feedql types it, keeps it and reads it on a learned schedule.
- Your keywords decide what reaches the feed. Exclusion words drop namesakes first, must-see words keep posts that are about your name, and the score gives each post a reason of up to ten words.
- Folding and grouping. Reports of the same story from several channels and sites are grouped into one event, with the first source linked.
- Delivery. The web feed, CSV or JSONL export, a scheduled digest, a webhook, the REST API and MCP.
What does a result look like?
The channels, handles and posts below are invented to show the shape of the result.

What are the limits, and what is coming?
The honest part.
- Live Public channels you add Keywords applied to what the channel posts
- Coming soon Search across all public channels Being built. Not available today.
- Coming soon Discovery of new channels Being built. Not available today.
- Public channels only. No private channels or groups.
- Not real time. Refresh intervals are learned per channel, from about 55 minutes to a day in our instance.
- Your keywords need a channel to live in. If a channel is not on your list, a mention there is not seen until search across all channels ships.
When is it worth it, and when not?
Our position.
- Worth it: you know the 10 to 50 channels where your customers or competitors talk, and you want their posts scored, folded and delivered with the rest of your sources.
- Not yet: you need to find channels you do not know about, or every mention anywhere on Telegram. That is the part we are building.

Frequently asked questions
Can feedql search all of Telegram for a keyword?
Not yet. Telegram's own global search needs an account, and ours returns nothing today. feedql reads the public channels you add and applies your keywords to what they post. Search across all public channels and automatic discovery of new channels are coming soon.
Does it read private channels or groups?
No. Only public channels that have a web preview.
How fresh are the posts?
Not real time. Each channel is read on an interval learned from how often it posts. In our own instance that ranged from about 55 minutes to a day, with a median near 11 hours.
Do I need a Telegram account?
No. Channels are read through the public web preview first; a pooled account is used only where the preview is not enough.
